The fire element is part of the basic foundations of spiritual knowledge in the connection of the four elements earth, air, water and fire. These elements are what make up the energies of Life, and thus us.
Once a person masters all four energies and understands how to operate them within, they learn how to master their life by overcoming traumas with true healing. The context of true healing used here does not mean a person becomes perfect, but instead becomes aware and discerning of how their actions reverberate through others and future generations.
To be truly healed, we work consciously to not repeat patterns of behavior that create more trauma in others. We can only attempt to do this through understanding our own shadow.
This gives wisdom on what needs to be shut down and what needs to be encouraged in life. Sometimes this might be pretty and sometimes this might be pretty ugly. Peace is not about avoiding conflict, but learning to embrace it, hash it out, negotiate it for a better future for all, and then work together to practice those negotiations.
When we are suffering from any health condition, whether it is in the mind, body, or soul, we can look to the elements to help us understand what to examine to strengthen.
Often, it is a combination of working with all the elements to heal, however sometimes it can be a little of one or a lack of it altogether.
The way to figure this out is to study the elements and then meditate or contemplate on these understandings in your own life.
In this, you can intuit your own medicine and be your own healer.
Please note, I’m not suggesting you forego professional advice or help, but instead that approaching health as a collaborative voice in your healing is important.
For example, if you are stuck in life a lot and have trouble making things happen due to lack of passion or motivation, you might need more fire element in your life.
With the fire element, we learn to utilize our energy on a singular focus or motivation to obtain a desire or a goal.
Learning to work with the fire element can help us learn how to reduce dysfunctional behaviors that keep us from reaching those goals.
There are many things we can do to help hone in on this energy and learn to understand how to work with it.
For instance, if you’ve ever watched a fire sign really all up in their passion, they care little what others think about them in that moment.
This is very useful in learning how when we let our own passions catch fire inside of us, we too forget to be self conscious.
If you find yourself in your being too self conscious all the time (not enough fire element) or not having enough passion in life you may need to learn how to switch out of other elements like water and earth and use more fire energy.
Fire element can help you burn off things like anxiety, depression, and stubbornness when you learn to recognize you’re getting in your own way.
There is great strength in learning how to move around in the different elements to achieve your goals.
Fire teaches us that sometimes sitting too much in one place in life is the problem and we need to get up and move around and shake off the dust and cobwebs.
Fire element shows us that being stuck too much in routines stifles creativity and innovation in our lives when somethings stops working but we failed to realize it.
When we learn to be a little bit impulsive in the right ways, fire element can blaze us towards the next step in our goals.
With the fire element you can learn to use the destructive aspects of it that society usually condemns, but in ways that it makes you dance.
Fire teaches us how to be free, dangerous, and wildly passionate, but without hurting ourselves or others. For instance, we might get angry when we’ve repeatedly told someone to stop crossing our boundaries. Your anger shows you the injustice, and you can vent that in healthy ways like in a journal or by punching a pillow.
But then after that, you can utilize the polished version of the anger to set people straight in diplomatic and ethical ways that doesn’t recreate trauma.
The fire element energy generally focuses on the areas of our lives that involve the passion, assertiveness, sexuality, creativity, innovation, leadership, and other things related to these areas.
It is also connected to Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius in astrology. In the tarot, the suit of Wands is equal to fire element energy.
These tools can also help us to ascertain what we need most in our life to take that next step to more balanced or harmonized energies within ourselves.
If you’re struggling with anger issues, lack of motivation, creative blocks, lack of leadership and assertiveness, overly impulsive, non-committal tendencies, being too combative all the time, pride or ego issues, or struggling to think about others in your actions, you might have too much fire.
Learning to harmonize your fire element energy will help you to regain your center with these issues and operate with more discernment rather than without thinking about the consequences.
Ask yourself what you need to help you feel more self control in life on a daily basis. What fire medicine would your intuitive guidance tell you to utilize in your life?
Conversely, if you’re never angry, not impulsive enough, and never have any conflict in your life, you might want to check your pulse! If you want serious things to happen in your life, you’re gonna have to feel a little pain, get a little dirty, learn to fail, and go big to get yourself out of that rut!
What things do you think of that make you feel focused, centered, steady, productive, mentally stable, and open-minded?
Ask yourself what things come to mind when you think about these subjects? Write them down where you can see them daily. Form an affirmation around them.
These help you bring in more fire element energies to attain your goals for healing and in life.
Do you feed your soul with things that support what you want in your life and future?
Or are you putting all your energy into other people’s lives and dreams?
Do you want a life filled with purpose and meaning but you’re not quite sure how to get there?
Do you spend time on your creativity and hobbies or are you spending time doing things that aren’t giving you a return of investment?
What you spend your time and energy on will dictate where you end up in life. If you want a great future, put your energy into that future everyday, even if just for five minutes at a time.
Your time and energy is a commodity and resource for you to utilize in your life in a way that benefits you. Don’t waste it on what you don’t want.
If you’re not reaching your goals in life, it’s time to examine what you feed your soul and spend your energy on.
Write down ideas of the kind of life you’d like to live and start doing that a little at a time.
You could have indications of both too little fire and too much fire in different areas of your life.
For instance, if you’re really impulsive in some ways but completely unmoving in others, these are indications of both too much and too little fire.
The magic is learning to harmonize these extremes through practicing this energy. We don’t want too much or too little of any of the energies, so we must learn to find the sweet spot, which is the magic that comes from working with it in our daily life.
We learn through the body that too much action without planning can result in a huge lack of foundation in our lives. But too little action, and we never gain any traction on the things we truly want.
These are very basic affirmations so the best thing is to work with them and adapt them to your own life.
Sit with them and ask yourself what they bring up for you, or how they might connect to areas where you want to improve.
Keep working with the statements until you develop one where you can feel it in your body when you say it.
Also, getting the body involved with these is a fantastic way to speed up the process.
Work with the goal of trying to get the affirmations to where you can feel them. You may not at first, so keep actively working with it until you do, even if that takes months.
For instance, a very popular thing people are doing now is EFT, which stands for Emotional Freedom Tapping, created by Gary Craig for veterans with PTSD suffering from very intense and debilitating flashbacks or war experiences.
There are many places on the internet to learn more about this such as on YouTube, Facebook and websites from practitioners who specialize in EFT, like Gary Craig himself.
However, there are many other ways you can get the body involved with your affirmations, such as even just reciting them while exercising, using music, or even art. Also, professionals who offer services like EMDR might be helpful. I’d recommend trauma-informed therapists only though, so you know they’re not damaging you further.
Working with the other elements is also helpful. None of the elements should only be looked at as independent and compartmentalized from each other.
Instead, they should be seen as a system that works together and interchangeably.

Aries, Leo, Sagittarius
Mars, Sun, Jupiter
Wands, Emperor, Strength, Wheel of Fortune, Temperance, Tower, Sun, Judgement
The point of this list is to do activities that bring you back into the energetic state of busyness and moving, or conversely, to help you slow down and move more deliberately so you don’t burn out.
There must be balance between having too much energy running you aimlessly and building enough energy to get shit done.
Sometimes having a person to talk to is all one needs.
To be heard, validated, and accepted in a non-judgemental way.
I offer Intuitive Coaching to help you get connected and stay connected with your own guidance system so you no longer have to be confused about what is going on in your life and can become your own authority.
My goal is to empower you towards your own personal freedom.
This doesn’t replace professional advice and healthcare. This doesn’t mean you don’t need to seek out other help such as professional mental health providers or doctors, etc. This is meant to help supplement any processes, procedures or prescriptions you’re already currently pursuing. Learning to understand your own mind and body is going to greatly help you communicate your needs and desires to the professionals you pay. Which gives you the best health care overall. Intuition can never be underestimated in this part of your life. Ultimately, your health is up to you.
